A weekly occurance at almost all homes is the trip to the grocery store. This week I thought I would take my camera. Before we left John announced we had to go to Jack in the box. He also packed a lunch of frozen broccoli and a handful of honey nut cheerios for himself. Lest he famish before we made it to the cheeseburgers. Addie got in the mix and packed her own broccoli shown in the picture. John is shown eating his lunch not less than 1 mile from our house. Mind you we left at 10 in the morning he had just ate about 2 hours ago. Oh well, I was laughing at his menu choices but happy he is such a healthy eater (sometimes). The deer pictured are part of the local herd that is now without cornfields to munch and hide in. They are not too afraid of people and continue to multiply as no hunters seem to be able to find them when necessary. I see them often as I never carry a gun.

So back to shopping we hit 7 stores. This is just one picture of the kids and the cart. Reed was not so excited to be boxed in by toilet paper. But he handled it well for the few minutes he had to survive. Let's just say I count shopping days as workout days because with kids alone the cart is well over 100 lbs and with groceries it is a load. And can anyone tell me why people always tell me... "MY you sure you have your hands full." What does that mean exactly? It never fails that always at least one person, usually per store, has to comment on my family. I'm so thankful the younger ones aren't quite as red headed as it drives me crazy that so many strangers wanted to pet my children's heads in public places. Anyway they were troopers we did get cheeseburgers. And it was quick!!! I must admit after getting pulled over last year as I was racing home to eat after a trip to town I figured the small cost of 1.00 hamburgers far outweighed the ticket I was dodging each time I raced home on an empty stomach. So it is now a semi-tradition to get burgers and waters.

Wednesday night we loaded up at 5:00 and headed to MEridian Id about 1 hour from here to deliver some diesel fuel injectors to get rebuilt. The kids moaned with hunger and agony and kept reminding us how hungry they were. So for a life experience, we took them to golden corral or the golden hog trough as one friend puts it. The kids were really good. They loved the choices. fried chicken legs were off course the favorite until they found the desert bar. All you could eat ... gummy bears!!! Aliza had 2 or 3 bowls full. YUCK! She was in heaven and the other kids couldn't wait for theirs. John thought it was the best idea ever to have all the deserts ready to eat and easy to grab. As usual we were the biggest family group there but again they were very good and quiet. They were surprised by some of the other patrons but it was a good learning experience.

Finally Friday was baking day. Those are hamburger buns and maybe some cinnamon rolls. I do granola, bread, 2 pans of hamburger buns, 2-3 pans of cinnamon rolls, and maybe something like cookies. It is just what it takes to keep our family going. Addie helped and everyone loves to sample. Reed also had a fever, then broke out with a rash that is covering most of his body. He was super miserable (meaning up all night) all night so we are very tired today.I am think he may be allergic to amoxicillan. I am just thankful his throat seems to be fine as he eats, drinks, cries, and plays like normal. Life always teaches you new things with each kid. He has definately taught me a lot even though he is 'seventh and only ten months old.

So our week was pretty normal not much new just the same old rountine we always follow. We did trek to some friends that we see annually and were reminded how great it is to have friends that although not seen often just take you as you are. I am so grateful for so many of you who are so accepting, warm hearted and kind. I love your ability to put life in focus and to encourage me on. I appreciate your wit, your faithfulness, and your courage. Although my life is busy with routine and necessity I appreciate your time in sending me emails or calling or making time when I have time to hang out with you.

Thank you. We hope all is well with you and yours and that life is giving you some fun surprises. Till next week. The Saunders
