This gets hard to think of what you do each week. So please I apologize for the overwhelming desire to say re-read the old letters they are better. But no wait I will get a head of steam going about something... This last week we got diagnosed again with strep so we are in the middle of 165 doses of medicine, and are finally feeling better from that. But we are super lucky and also got a flu/cold thing that makes you wish you didn't have lungs because you cough so hard trying to clear them. So that was a fun way to maybe end out the eternal winter we have had. It rained and rained and supplied us with lots of fresh gooey mud. Which Addy found on Sunday morning 2 minutes before we really needed to leave. She of course did not have her shoes on with her new tights and fell - I'm almost sure was helped to fall by a brother or two- into the mud in her pretty white dress. No problem we did - thank goodness- have a spare in the closet. Now I am just beginning to battle the mud stains on the dress. I'm not super great with knowing which magic mixture of detergents work on what stain so I'm seriously thinking of just being thankful it lasted through another daughter and some of Addy's life and tossing it.
One fun perk of being sick was that Greg donated the tickets I had purchased months ago to Fiddler on The Roof to some friends. I was SO Bummed! It was our first real meaning- something funlike without kids and not a business promoting thing- that we were going to do together. And is there a better song for a mormon than Tradition. I love that musical, well I really like most musicals but this one has so much timeless wisdom. But alas Greg was so sick with trying to stay warm although his temp was over 102 he was in no condition to travel to boise and back for a musical. Ugh foiled again by life. I am super excited and have my fingers crossed that we will be well and whole to see Wicked in May.
We were able to enjoy a brief respite from the rain on Saturday and as I had had it with trying to keep the house clean or organized while the kids played and livingin it, I decided we needed to go outside and work on the felled forest of trees I hastily had a brother in law cut down at thanksgiving. It was super cool to watch his very sharp and very long chainsaw cut through my trees that had blocked my view and annoyed me with spreading their weed like pods everywhere only to turn into monsters I could not remove in a mere matter of weeks. So I was glad to exact some revenge on their bark and cut them back or down. And is there a better sound than the phump of a tree falling? However, like all good fun it was easy to do and lots and lots of work to clean up. (Maybe I should lay of my kids messes as there's are at least manageable to pick up?) So we bought a small chainsaw from another brother in law. And as I get very impatient with waiting decided today was the day I was going to cut those trees all 20 or so of them into firewood. With all seven kids outside obediently walking back and forth from my sawing to the wood pile. Did I mention I decided this before getting out of bed, obviously still dreaming. So after yet another brother in law came and showed me all the buttons to push or pull and the like I was sure after feeding my group that I could start that baby and get to sawing till I ran out of mystery mixed gas stuff.

Well I got some real boots on, not just my usual crocs and and went out to assess the area. I was amazed to see how many trees are lying on the ground and realized just how much work this was going to be. I got the chainsaw and attempted to start it. Turning it on, priming and choking it. Well the pull cord was made for a man or as one observer later suggested my guardian angel was watching out for me. But that cord was dang hard to pull. So instead of cutting wood it pulled back into my tender leg and gave me a smarting bruise on my shin. I decided it hurt more than I wanted to start the dumb thing and so worked the rest of the day moving, de branching and piling up wood that was too small to bother with. So no dismembered children that got in an impatient mother's way and still trees litter my yard but I am still working on a plan to get that taken care of that involves me watching someone male cut those long trees into appropriate lengths. Note Addy in the picture is a full foot or more shorter than the rest. She was literally hanging on for life then continued to get dropped as she was on the high end. The picture of her alone shows her mad that she didn't get to help.

We also cleaned out/up the garden so we are ready for that project. Although maybe not the watermelon seeds Mark brought home from church. He is happily watering them everyday to the brim of the cup. So I guess maybe I won't have to worry about them.
I just got the opportunity to listen to Julie Beck and her daughters talk from radio.lds.org click on programs then conversations then their episode. It is very interesting and gave some good insights I thought.
Oh and I did find my camera in my purse I had taken it to photograph our star reward ice cream trip and forgot about it. But I have managed to loose our family car keys. I can still drive other vehicles but our big car we all fit comfortably in, well in my rush to unload the trip to town last week I didn't put them away whoops. SO that means I am cleaning nook and cranny and bags and pockets trying to find where they may have been stuffed, fallen, or walked too. Spring cleaning with a purpose!

And last but not least my vacuum gave up and died so I am polling cleaners and non cleaners alike as to what vacuum they prefer. I am looking for preference on bagless, bagged, canister or uprights. fancy or cheap. I would greatly appreciate your input and if you have a "I would never have that again" I would love to know that as well. Thanks much. Next week should be more positive as hopefully by then we will be breathing well and all done with all the fun of antibiotics. Best to you.
