Wow looking at all the pictures of this very celebrated easter week, we did frosting galore! I knew on Monday we were going to have another cousins weekend so I began getting some of our family celebrating done early. We did the atonement/resurrection lesson on Monday night followed by frosting easter cupcakes. Of course we had no jelly beans so we just ate green cupcakes with coconut grass. No one complained. We did an easter egg hunt with the Twin Falls cousins on Friday. Thanks Aunt Crystal for heading that up. Thank goodness for Fabulous Aunts who think of fun things. I don't until way too late, so as a result fun activities rarely happen by my own ideas. The kids had a great time hunting for eggs and the tall grass made a great hiding spot. Then we promptly ate all the candy and enjoyed playing some more.

Earlier in the week, I had made a shopping date with a friend to go work on food storage but life happened so we were unable to go. Instead I was able to go with my mom to Joanne's the fabric store!! It is very rare we get to go just the two of us- and Reed- anywhere. So this was really a nice experience. I used to joke with my eyebrow waxing lady I needed to get better outings because coming without kids to her was not fun. So we went there to Joanne's. I was not going to buy fabric just patterns as I had discovered Anna had grown more than I really wanted to alter the patterns I had. I foresee her growing more so figured the it was worth the expense of new patterns.  It was so nice to actually look through the patterns with both eyes not one eye rapidly looking through some book while holding- rocking- restraining- another one or two and watching the others unload the notions shelves right by the patterns. I got three patterns which I have tried two now and really like. My mom suggested some cute fabric for the girls and offered it as an easter present. So we got cute new fabric for them. I was so excited to sew. I truly like to create things. I just hate the mess and stress that it causes. But as with new things it is fun to use or do so I got the kids from their super fun play date and came home to cut cut cut. Got the dresses cut out on weds and began sewing. I even got to use grandma Sue's new machines. Wow they are nice. The dresses came together with help from her notions boxes and tips from her and perseverance.

We had cousins visiting and so we did a lot of food prep and clean-up this weekend. But I must say it's almost a downer when the family weekends are over, it's very lonely. It was very neat to watch the kids and cousins trudge up and down our driveway clearing the limbs from the felled trees. The hauled fro over 5 hours on Saturday. When the boys were complaining about the girls not doing as much grandpa Saunders told the boys " I'm so glad my grandsons are learning to be men and do more work than the girls. I want you to be strong men." what a great teacher. I had told the girls to get busy and do their share... He also told the complaining boys on another occasion that he was sure proud of the boys taking the opportunity to do good hard work. I forget to teach in the moments that are offered and just get my captain voice on and tell them to keep on marching. I appreciate all the help grandparents give in nurturing and teaching my children.

On Sunday I played accompaniment in church for the Young Women it was a beautiful song in this month's friend. Aliza learned it too and can really belt it out. It was fun to teach her the song and some  things like forte and mezzo? forte she definitely gets forte. She could sing it a cappella quite well. Then taught my class and heard Anna give her talk. We were really looking forward to AUnt Mary's easter egg hunt that evening. She does eggs for the Corn grandkids. Mom taught the spiritual side then the kids went hunting. We enjoyed a great dinner and visiting. The kids played and played in between eating candy, frosting cookies, eating cake, oh and they did have some dinner too. It was very fun.

People ask how we do so many children. And how I do what I do. I honestly don't know if we could if we were alone. I really appreciate and acknowledge all the family help we get. From great grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins to nieces and nephews we are really blessed. There is a lot of give and take required in a family with lots of people and personalities but I can honestly un-drugged and un-bribbed say it is a real blessing to be able to interact with so much family so often. Our kids are blessed fro the good examples of courtship, work, fun, modesty, education, family etc. In fact our kids were teaching their younger Corn cousins the game "ghosts in the graveyard." A game they had learned at Uncle Matt's & Aunt Alena's friend parties.

I had to send proof of our wheat juice adventures. That's our morning ritual I cut it and Greg grinds it then we all take our various amounts and chug it down with some orange to follow. Anna with her signature green smile! I can say that it has curbed my appetite. I don't get hungry like before and I don't want sugar- although chocolate is still desirable. It's an interesting experience all the growing.  I really like being able to grow something that is so green and lush and easy. Maybe that's why I have zero desire to garden this year.

So we have just been eating and celebrating this week. We are getting ready to make our first pinewood derby car for the thursday race. We are excited and nervous. We of course want to win and Harold is really pumped up all though Mark and John might be more excited it's hard to tell.

Wishing you the best and hoping life is proving exciting and blessed for you and yours too.
