I don't know why I love my kids after a messy meal but I just think they are cute. I have piles of pictures with red faces. I guess it is the real happiness that they exhibit after having fun and enjoying their food.

That is Jay, Greg Anna and Harold applying the sealant to the stripped cement. It was basically applying a new layer of cement that seals or stops the holes, cracks, pores etc in the old cement. I have not turned the water on the house to see if it works. I must give credit to uncle big guns who did a majority of the paint stripping with a very large electric wire wheel. He was patient and kept after it although the rooms got so dusty you couldn't see other people working with you and hot because it's summer time. He was  a major reason this project  got done. Jay also assisted and we appreciate his always good attitude.

That is our open roof with the Kilz. Kinda disheartening and hopeful again that we will be more well this winter and that this is just another phase of the taking care of an older home that we won't have to do again.

The kids shucking corn. Those cows come running, really, when they see the fresh husks. WE are so green we ride our f wheelers to the patch then through the waste to the animals... ha-ha not our intention really it's just more fun to feed the husk to the cows.

Anna had a friend party. They played minute to win it games. It was REALLY fun and so appropriate for any age. Loved that the games were interesting, challenging, simple, yet competitive. My Aliza was part of the group as one girl couldn't come and wow is she a competitor. Funny what you learn about your kids through different situations.

And finally while I have been thankful to have professionals come and do the work this time on our house- although it amazes me that just 5 years ago I did most of this stuff the painting, drywall, socket and switch replacement, even grouting tile- the kids are just in love with having new people to interview and watch each day. It has been really good for them to see all these different workers and what they do. They have given them the 100 questions. From where did you learn that to how many kids do you have? Where did you grow up, why do you do it that way. I'll get/carry your tools etc. The workers in general have been really nice and great at explaining and working around such active observers. Oh finally after 2 full days the electricians found the big short in a wall hidden where I did not know there was a box. They ran new wire, fixed everything and so hopefully yet another thing is crossed off the old home update/maintenance list. They said this is one house they will remember for a long long time. As it was much harder than most all they encounter. How refreshing. After hearing the y bill by the hour we volunteered to do cleanup, and replace face plates which Anna and Mark quickly did. Again another perk they are learning skills too. Best to you.
